A personal view of education....

There are many children that are in school.  Some of them are succeeding and others are struggling in their classes.  As a student studying to be a teacher I plan to find ways to hopefully reach those children that have a hard time trying to succeed.  Education is a much-needed tool to survive in life.  It is the basis of a person’s career.  As the years go by education is becoming more of an issue than what it was before.

There are more and more children that I have noticed that have been put on medication to calm them and to help them concentrate on the teacher and their work.  I have had the chance to work with some of those children.  I did not like the effects that it had on them.  The children would become totally different people than what I would see before.  I truly believe that there are other ways that we can reach those children.  Some day I hope that I can make a difference with that situation.  Therefore there would be fewer children on medication.

I know that when I went through my years of school there were teachers that were awesome and there were some teachers that didn’t even care.  I want to be an addition to a staff where the teacher’s care and everything that they teach have meaning.  When children are in school, they need teachers that are caring.  If teachers show no interest then why should the students show interest?  I know that in my field of my studies I will have children that will be successful and I will have children that will struggle for the rest of their lives.  No matter what the situation is with my children I will always strive and never give up.  I truly believe that where there is a will there is a way.  What I mean by this is where there is a will to teach there is a way to reach each and every child.  You just have to figure out how.

As a teacher I would like to be a major influence on the children that I will be teaching.  I want to bestow in them what some teachers can’t.  I want to be able to be a friend when a child needs someone to talk to.  I want to provide children with special needs the opportunity to have clubs and organizations that they can belong to and participate in.  I want to make the future of the children that I will one day be teaching brighter.  I want to be a big part of their lives by steering them in the right direction.
