A personal view of education.... This is my entry Receiving a good education is essential in order to progress in today’s society. Becoming educated does not call for attending the most prestigious college or attaining a degree. Education is flexible in a way where you can take it to whatever level you choose. People should cherish what they learn, and use it to their fullest ability. An educated person is someone who possesses both knowledge and wisdom in areas that are of importance in the world. I believe that education is very important, especially during the earlier years in life, because this is the foundation. When a student realizes the importance of education early on in life, they are more likely to continue throughout school with this same mindset. In my aspirations to become a teacher I can encourage young minds to get all they can out of school. Education is not only for those who want to succeed in the job market, but it is also important to educate ourselves about what is going on in the world today. A teacher’s job should not end with the words being taught out of the textbook. No doubt, the written materials are important. However, the teacher also has the power to instill positive values into each student. They can do this through teaching them responsibility, and respect for others and themselves. This is all a part of the education process. Going above and beyond what is being taught out of the textbook. I enjoy working with and being around children, which gave me the desire to enter into the field of education. The youth are the future and as a teacher I have the satisfaction of knowing that I play a role in cultivating their young minds. Learning is a process, which never ends. I learn something new with each passing day. I cannot stress enough the importance of education. The teacher plays a major role in the Childs’s learning process. "Students are most likely to engage in meaningful learning and undergo conceptual change when they are motivated to do so (O. Lee & Anderson, 1993; Pintrich et al., 1993). In other words, students need some type of extrinsic motivation to encourage the students learning process. It is the teachers responsibility to make the subject matter more interesting.
